Vanilla creamer.

Don't you love marriage? Having breakfast yesterday, Bob and I ordered coffee. He wanted the vanilla creamer, I did too. None of us wanted to give it up. So finally, the waitress, the peacemaker I should say, brought more to the table. I cannot get over how we can get caught on discussions over stupid little things, that could ruin our breakfast! It was a matter of 2 minutes of discomfort, but it shouldn't happened. We should know by now this shouldn't happened, well that's life. Don't you love marriage?

Construction site before the rain

I woke up this morning, not early, and noticed it was so quiet outside, the construction workers weren't across the street. I saw this huge machine talking to me (?). There.... standing still.... I would say the machine itself chose a pose for me and it was smiling, begging with huge eyes, like the cat in Shrek the movie. -Draw me, draw me! And because I'm a good girl, I did. Satisfied?

Glued to the seat

Waiting for Bob at doctor's office. Staying outside is certainly more appealing for an sketcher than inside. Being Inside could be boring, I mean, challenging. Here, at the parking lot, in the heat of the day, I opened the door car and this is the best I could get in 60 minutes or so. By the time my husband returned to the car I was glued to the seat on sweat! All for the love of art.....

Triple Birthday Party

Not only we celebrate Father's Day this weekend. Today I attended a triple birthday party. Three of my beautiful niece and nephews, 13, 11 and 1 years old celebrate their birthday during the month of June. Parents, grandparents, uncles, siblings, friends, basically plenty of people. The hosts used the two grills to feed people comfortably. Summer keeps getting busy. There's always something going on every weekend. After a terrible winter in Chicago, we all crave for sun and outdoor living. Keep it coming! I hope we can keep up with it.

USk Chicago Sketch Seminar 2014

It's been a while since my last post, but here I am with 5 sketches of different locations in Chicago from my attendance to the USk Chicago Sketch Seminar 2014.  Two whole days full of energy and art. It was such a diverse group of wonderful people from different backgrounds and level of expertise, yet we have at least one thing in common, our passion for sketching on location. What a way to make more friends! I have to say that the only one thing I wish I could erased from my mind was  the way I reacted when I saw right in front of me, walking in the same side street in the Gold Coast of Chicago, to nothing else and nothing more than Mr. Ralph Fiennes. Don't know who he is? Well, think The English Patient, Harry Potter, Maid in Manhattan, and lately The Reader and The Grand Budapest Hotel. It's not that I haven't have seen famous people before, mainly at airports, usually I remain calm. Gosh! I think it was the energy of this Seminar! I was really excited for seeing him coming towards me, I reacted worse that a teenage girl in a close encounter with Justin Bieber. -It's... it's...its'...oh...it's.... He forced himself to ignore me, I think he felt embarrassed! I don't blame him, but my overjoy and ridiculous reaction made him finally turn around, look and smile at ME and then he wave his hand....Sometimes making ridicule of yourself pays off.
